About Buttercream Heaven

Buttercream Heaven started in 2019 at home with my KitchenAid mixer. But really, it started long before that.

As a child, my grandma ALWAYS made us homemade cakes using her secret buttercream recipe for our birthdays and special occasions. She used to work at a bakery when she was younger so she had a few tricks up her sleeve. My mom would then always make specialty chocolates for special occasions growing up so I have watched my mom and Grandma do this for a while.

When my daughter was turning one I wanted to have French macarons at her party and my Grandma was no longer making cakes. The cake I made for my daughter’s first birthday was one of the first ones I ever did and it involved A LOT of messing up and covering up my mistakes with buttercream flowers - at the end of the day it didn’t matter because it was just a smash cake for her! After that, I started having people ask me if I would make macarons for their events and along came my side business. I was mainly only doing macarons but kept practicing with cakes and sugar cookies. My grandma gave me all of her cake pans (4 LARGE boxes worth, haha) & her cake decorating utensils. Once I started baking more my mom brought over all of her chocolate molds (again, numerous boxes filled with molds)! Somehow, over the past year or so it has continued to grow.

I now do cakes, cupcakes, sugar cookies, macarons and a variety of other items. Carrying on the tradition of having “Grandma’s cake” at birthdays and events was a special memory I had growing up and I am excited to keep it going for my family and others. It is a very special way to be part of people’s special occasions and moments in life and I love bringing joy to those I bake for!

Buttercream Heaven operates out of my home kitchen located in Rochester Hills, MI. I operate under the Michigan Cottage Laws. I am not a licensed kitchen and cannot guarantee that items are completely free of nuts or gluten. I do take this request very seriously and follow a strict cleaning protocol for my baking equipment. I am not responsible for any allergic reactions as my desserts are NOT guaranteed allergen free.

This was one of the last cakes my Grandma made and it was for my daughters baby sprinkle.

This is at my daughter’s first birthday. Needless to say, she was a fan.

It took me about 3 batches of macaron shells to get enough for this platter but I was SO proud of myself for doing it!
